Smokey eyes are dramatic, daring, and bold, and they are perfect for everything from a night out to a special occasion. This is a popular look yet it is elusive to a lot. The good news is that with a little practice anyone can pull off this versatile look.
While black and gray are common options for smokey eyes, you can use brown tones, or you can get creative with purples, greens, blues, or any other color you like.
Well let us take a look at what steps are involved in creating this popular smoking hot look.
First you will need to have all the tools necessary:
The Steps To Create Smokey Eyes
Step 1
Prime your eyelids with (1)Revlon Colorstay Eye Shadow Primer to minimize eye shadow creasing or liner smearing. Gently pat primer over your lidsand under your bottom eyelid to ensure your smokey stays put.
Pat on (2)Essence Camoouflage + Healthy Glow Concealer, and blend under eyes to neutralise dark circles, which can look bruised rather than vampy with smokey eyes.
Fluff on (3) Yardley Absolute Transluncent Loose Powder across your under-eye area to catch loose eye shadow dust. Once you have completed the look, gently brush off powder. Flawlessness!
Step 2
To create the classic charcoal look, use (4) Rimmel Magnif’Eyes Smoke Edition Palette and start by sweeping the lightest colour shadow across your entire upper lid. Follow with a medium shade and blend it upward and outward into the crease of your eyelid.
Step 3
Apply the darkest shade into the outer corner of the eye and the crease to create a dark, intense “wing” and sweep it under your eye close to your bottom lash line.
Step 4
Now blend , blend, blend, working towards the outer corner of you eye. Your smokey shade does not have to be black – try greys, shimmery brown or plum for a softer approach. Add a twinkly radiance with the lightest shade under your brows over the inner “V” corner of your eyes. Use the pink shade for fair to medium skin and the silvery champagne shade on a darker complexion.
Step 5
Define your eyes with (5)Revlon Colorstay Creme Gel Pencil by drawing it along you top and bottom lash lines. Its velvety soft, wateproof and easily glides on ideal for first-timers. Trace (6)Essence Waterproof Eyeliner in Black along top and bottom lash lines to seal the deal and ensure your smoke-ringed eyes don’t budge.
Step 6
A full-on fringe of lush lashes is a must, so create intense jet-black lashes with (7) Yardley Volume Extreme Mascara in Black.
There you have it. Smouldering smokey eyes. Now just try and put that fire out!
