    Capitec Branch Code

    0
By admin on August 19, 2022 Finance, Finance Reviews

The Capitec branch code is usually required when you want to make an Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) to a Capitec account holder.

What is the Capitec branch code?

The universal branch code for Capitec bank is 470010.

Is it important to know the Capitec branch code?

Yes, it is very important when you have to pay a Capitec account holder. In fact, you will not be able to process an EFT without a branch code.

However, a lot of customers still try and look for a specific branch code. Please note that you don’t have to waste time doing that especially in your busy life.

Capitec has made it easier for customers by using a universal branch code for all it branches across the country.

For Capitec Bank, the commonly used branch code is its universal branch code 470010.

What will happen if I get the branch code wrong?

In most cases, you will find that your EFT payment will not go through.

Do I need to know the branch code if I am depositing cash at a branch?

No, you don’t need to know the Capitec account holder’s branch code if you make a deposit at an Capitec branch. The same is true if you make a cash deposit at an ATM.

What is the difference between the Capitec Branch Code and the Capitec Universal Code?

Branch Codes are unique identifiers of financial institutions in South Africa. They are used when processing bank account payments. Most banks in South Africa will have unique branch codes for their different branches across the country.

Universal Branch Code is a user-friendly code offering a single code for all the branches of a bank.

While most banks in South Africa have different branch codes for their various branches, Capitec uses their universal code for all their branches as the branch code.

Examples of banks with different branch codes include FNB, Standard Bank and Nedbank.

What is the Capitec SWIFT Code?

A Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) code is used to identify a specific bank during an international transaction.

The Capitec SWIFT code for international payments is CABLZAJJ.

This code is only useful if you are expecting an international payment. In fact, anyone paying you from outside South Africa will not be able to do so without the Capitec SWIFT code if you are a Capitec account holder.

If you are looking for a specific branch or Capitec ATM you can use the branch locator found on their website.
