Katlego Maboe has made a return to social media with an Instagram post he titled: “Gratitude.” The disgraced TV Presenter took a social media hiatus after his cheating scandal hogged headlines late last year.
Who is Katlego Maboe? He is a South African TV presenter, singer-songwriter and accountant. He was consecutively awarded Best TV Presenter at the South African Film and Television Awards in 2015 and 2016.
Maboe was caught out for having an affair by his partner Monique Muller, sparking a bitter divorce between the pair. He was allegedly having an affair with Nikita Murray.
In a video which went viral last year, Monique Muller, who is also the mother of his son Phoenix, accused him of having an affair. Muller further stated that Katlego Maboe had given him an STD. As a result of the STD, she might not be able to have another child.
Rumours circulating on social media at the time said Murray was the source of the STD.
However, in a statement released by Murray’s lawyer, called those accusations against Murray malicious and wild. Due to the allegations of the STD Nikita Murray underwent a medical test to confirm that she has no STD.
Further allegations of abuse were also added into the mix making the cheating scandal even more scandalous.
Katlego admitted to cheating to cheating on his partner by denied all allegations of abuse.
Following the scandal, the 34-year-old was dropped by The Morning Expresso Show and OUTsurance, which then saw the star step back from the limelight.
Katlego Has Gratitude For What He Went Through
In a post shared to Instagram on Monday evening, Katlego Maboe marked his return to social media with an image of the ocean.
Maboe expressed his gratitude for life, despite enduring the year from hell. He has chosen to look at this tough time in a pragmatic and philosophical fashion.
Katlego, who also quoted Bible scripture from Romans 8:38-39, said that he prayed his words “brings comfort, peace, joy and strength to take one more step each time you feel disheartened”.
