Soccer Laduma reported on Thursday that Lucky Mohomi the former Mamelodi Sundowns man is training with SuperSport United.
Mohomi’s contract with the Brazillians expired at the end of the 2019/20 campaign. The midfielder signed a three-year contract plus two year option when he joined Sundowns in 2019. Mamelodi Sundowns opted against exercising the renewal option.
The Mamelodi-born player struggled for game-time under the Brazillians. He didn’t feature for them at all in the extended 2019/20 campaign. In the 2018/19 season he only managed to play 2 games.
Here are some of the midfielder’s career stats:

With his contract expired he left Sundowns as a free agent. Mohomi has been linked with Matsatsantsa in the past. Soccer Laduma reports that the Siya crew has received confirmation of the midfielder training under Kaitano Tembo and his technical team.
However, the Siya crew also reported that Swallows FC were showing interest on bringing the midfielder to the club.
Its only a matter of time before we truly know where the 29-year old will be featuring in the new 2020/21 season. With SuperSport United seeking a replacement for Dean Furman who recently left the club Lucky Mohoni could be their man.
If the midfielder impresses enough to land a contract with Matsatsantsa we hope he will be able to get more game-time than he did with the Brazillians. At the age of 29 a player is usually at the peak of his career and he has to grab this opportunity with both hands and make the most of it.
